Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was when she discovered a keyboard in her loft and being fascinated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes urged her to make music as a means of personal growth, rather than to earn money or for as a hobby. She began writing her own songs. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen as well as Bjork for being among her inspirations. After her mother said that the songs she wrote might not be famous for her, rather to help individuals to recognize the value of themselves and their impact to this world, she started playing them on stage. As a young girl She began playing the piano, and when she was nine, started writing songs. The family did not be aware until fourteen. Aurora's fame was not the goal of her. The only thing she loves is writing music. She believes that music can help people feel more relaxed.
